500 X Gallery’s Annual Open Invitation…

Artists ask me all the time, “How do I start showing my artwork?” Well things like this are a perfect opportunity, to jump off with something other than hanging work in your local coffee shop. 500X is one of Texas’ oldest alternative galleries, which is run by a cooperative of artists. Their openings are always well attended, so this is a premier opportunity to get your work in front of a lot of people.

There is a $25 hanging fee per entry. The show runs May 12 – June 2, 2007. You can visit their site for all of the details.

Last but certainly not least…

So apparently Mutt Gallery was left off of the Deep Ellum Gallery walk. After receiving a call from a very irate Candice Taylor (who is the gallery director) I decided to remedy this gross oversight by the Deep Ellum art community.

It is my understanding that through her PR channels she is rallying the press to bring national attention to this injustice. All we can hope for is that this media juggernaut does not bring a neighborhood back on the rise to its knees.
