Dallas’ 5th Gift to the World…
THE DALLAS SKYLINE
I never thought about the skyline of the city that I live in until 3 years ago when I met David Choe at what was then BLK/MRKT gallery in Los Angeles. He asked me where I was from and I said Dallas. His immediate response was, “Dallas…man that skyline is so futuristic.” I have to agree with him, it is pretty futuristic in a Tron sort of way, but nonetheless. Love it or hate it, that fiberoptic phallace, we call Reunion Tower, is one of Dallas’ most enduring landmarks.
Isn’t it strange that it sometimes takes an outsider to point out the beauty of what you see everyday? I learned that lesson when I was lucky enough to be selected to work with California artist Willie Middlebrook.
Agreed. I think Dallas and Detroit are totally techno looking cities. Just depends which side you are looking from. If you are looking from the north to the south it def. looks futuristic.
