Phillippe Starck Returns in a Big Way

French designer Phillippe Starck will build a big hi-rise condo in Uptown’s Victory project. The building, dubbed “The House”, will be a 26-story, 150-unit luxury place. While there’s no word yet on actual pricing, you can reserve your unit now for $5,000. Construction will start in the first quarter of ’06.

Why Dallas? He’s had success here before with his West End nightclub (remember the Starck Club?) which opened in 1984. And, of course, hi-rise condos seem to be all the rage now. So, we can’t fault the guy for contributing to the over-building of that sector, can we?

More info on Phillippe Starck is here and more on Yoo Ltd., the London-based development company heading up the project.

He is such a copycat! I’ve been calling my house “The House” for years.
