Spare change?

Having worked in both downtown Dallas and downtown Fort Worth, I’ve noticed there are far more homeless people panhandling in Fort Worth. It’s not a small difference – it large enough that is definitely noticeable.

Does anyone know why? More aggressive police in Dallas? Less services in Fort Worth? Are the homeless people at another location in Dallas where people are more likely to be walking around and generous?

I’m stumped.

There is a no-panhandling ordinance in Dallas and it is being aggressively enforced these days. I don’t believe FW has a law like that.

I know I’m alone in this – but I think that sucks. I always give a few bucks.
