The Velvet Hookah is a rather newish Deep Ellum place, visited by my friend Tony during the Deep Ellum Arts Festival over the weekend. (Thanks for the photos!) Try the watermelon, says Tony. Uh, I don’t think so.

If you are looking for a hookah bar, there is Jasmine in Richardson. It is on Belt Line between 75 and Greenville. Fun atmosphere and good Middle Eastern food.

I would think they’d have to have disposable mouthpieces, for sure.

By the way, your comment went into spam moderation for some reason. Strange…

I’ve been to Jasmine but I like Velvet Hooka better, Deep Elum is my favorite. I like the diversity of the people and the music. They always have hookah condoms (mouthpieces), and I heard they are introducing a new menu in november, global tapas. The waitress said it would reflect the diversity of the people that go there. Which is a good thing because I really have never liked the food they serve there.
