Ah, the grand traditions of the South. One of my fondest high school memories is of the drive-in theater that was just down the street from my high school. I never got up to anything eye-brow-raising, ahem, but we did have fun trying to sneak in extra people for free, sitting on the hoods in the summer time, eating popcorn and drinking giant, icey Cokes. It showed mostly B-grade horror movies and the occasional T-n-A comedy.

The selection will be better at the Galaxy Drive-In Theater in Ennis. It opens tonight and you have your choice of Spongebob, The Cranks, Lemony Snicket, and the Polar Express. Getchyerself a corny dog and some nachos, and wear a sweater. It’s cold when you open the windows to hang the little metal speakers in the car!
